What is Merrithew®...
In 1988, Lindsay and Moira Merrithew opened their first Pilates studio in Toronto, Canada. Sensing a growing demand for Pilates and a shortage of suppliers, President and CEO Lindsay focused on building and diversifying the business. Moira, the Executive Director of Education, certified as an instructor at a Pilates studio in New York, began training clients.
They realized that the benefits of Pilates could help people of all ages and abilities. So, they set out to demystify the method, raise awareness, and make it more accessible.
With a team of business and health and fitness professionals, they built their current business model, paying meticulous attention to detail at every level, from equipment to programming. Many of Merrithew's equipment are manufactured and assembled in their own factory in Toronto, Canada. Meanwhile, Merrithew's headquarters' training center is the base for instructor training and educational programs. Merrithew's network of licensed training centers and distributors spans the globe, and its community of certified instructors and clients continues to grow.
